How does a collaboration work?
1
Inquiry
Please feel free to send me a short email with the route details, the number of participants, and the date of your event, or information about your project.
2
Individual offer
I’ll send you a quote that includes the rights to use the illustrations.
3
On-site exploration
Depending on where the event takes place, I’ll arrive before the event to familiarize myself with the route (or parts of it) and the event location and surrounding area. If you’d like an illustrated map, I’ll hike or run the route—or parts of it—in advance.
4
Concept
You’ll receive a first draft of the map, and we’ll go over the details together.
5
During your event
Live personalization of the card and illustrated portraits of the athletes and participants.
I also offer workshops for activation during events.
6
Delivery
In the final step, you’ll receive the illustration from me in the requested formats. If you have any questions, I’m always happy to help, even after our colaboration.
Live Events
I’ve been active at the following events so far:
Local Kino Helden
September 2026
Hochland Kino, Garmisch-Partenkirchen
An evening full of movies about skiing and trailrunning adventures by Michaels / midiafilm. On site I sketched filmmakers, athletes and participants, as well as scenes from the movies:
Girls* on Ice Switzerland
July 2026, Valais
Glacier expedition for the girls* on ice project which takes underrepresented folks to the high mountains.

About me

Hi, I’m Kat, an illustrator, author, and athlete from Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
During my hikes, runs, and travels, I capture places through sketches, maps, and illustrations. No matter how heavy my backpack is—I’m rarely on the go without my sketchbook and a few paints. You can find out where I’ve been with my sketchbook on my travel blog, Vagabondia.
In my work, I combine traditional techniques such as watercolor, gouache, linocut, and embroidery with digital art on my iPad. Whether I’m being creative on a mountain peak, in a cabin, on a train, or in a trendy café, I’m always on the lookout for the little details that make a place unique. If you’d like to get creative yourself, I also offer workshops on travel sketching in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
With a background in competitive sports and ultra-running (I’ve participated in the ZUT twice; the Transvulcania on La Palma is still on my to-do list), social sciences, marketing, and product management, I have a diverse perspective on the world, which I bring to all my projects.
Ready for truly one-of-a-kind illustration instead of generic phone snaps?
